Two friends recovering from illness began to have a conversation. While putting themselves back together over games of chess they began to postulate on a method of producing a piece of musical art. This called for a cleansing of systems and souls; piecing together unused verses, scraps of thoughts scribbled, and samples of sound gathered, beats made then forgotten until there was a frame to work from.

'Catharsis' is the result of that meditation. Finding itself influenced by dream symbolism, quantum psychology, and theosophical discourse 'Catharsis' is a reflection of the condition of mankind; the socio-political spiritual sickness that binds us to a strict five-sense reality blinded to the true state of humanities potential for multiple points of observation and awareness.

Catharsis from Greek refers to a cleansing or purging, is described as the act of experiencing repressed or ignored emotions by Freudian psychoanalysts, and is translated by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing as an experience of purification that balances pity and fear.
